Still remember the elderly Motorola A1200 MING smartphone, which takes a fad few years ago with its flashy design and Linux OS? Now, its successor, the MING A1210 is here and comes with a host of enhancements together with the reasonable price. It sounds great, isn’t it?
It comes with a battery, a charger, a handsfree, a USB cable, CD and a User’s guide.
The Motorola A1210 which is the forth generation of MOTOMING, keeps the same design as its family members, especially A1200: The round edge, clear shape, clamshell…
Same as A1200 , the flippable transparent lid with a large touchscreen underneath. Before, A1200 got 2.4-inch display only but we have 2.8-inch QVGA now. Flip open, it looks longer and the bigger screen looks really great.
There are call and end keys only below the display. Large enough to offer great touch orientation.
Oh goody! We find the 3.5mm audio jack at the top.
On the left side, we have the USB slot. And the volume rocker is just next to it.
The camera shutter is on the right. The stylus is also there which is quite long and can be folded up into 3 parts.
The snake-skin-like mats back panel with shiny Motorola logo, 3.1 Megeapixel Camera and the loudspeaker grill.
The light orange loudspeaker grill in smile shape. So lovely! The device equipped with FM radio and Bluetooth.
You have to take off the battery in order to insert the memory card. It got 64MB internal memory and expandable via microSD slot.
Run on Linux-base OS. The main menu here! With the bigger screen, we saw four rows of applications, whereas the A1200 is only shown 3 rows only.
When you are composing a text message, there are several available input methods: English Keyboard, Numeric Pad, and Handwriting with Cursive Handwriting Recognition, Pinyin and Zhuyin Board for typing in Chinese.

To be honest, it is nothing that impressive with the A1210 so far. Lacking of playful features, advancing technology and outstanding outlook, however, it’s with fair quality during operating, the tactile touchscreen, basically with FM radio, tri-band GSM support, Bluetooth, USB and really appreciated with its 3.5mm jack. One thing need to remind you that it doesn’t have WiFi here. But with the reasonable price, still, it is worth to take a look.
