HTC has added two new models to its Touch series of smartphones: the HTC Touch Diamond2 and the HTC Touch Pro2.We have just finished the Diamond2 few days ago. Now, the long waiting one, one of HTC's new flagship devices, Touch Pro2 is also on my desk. Wow… How excited I am? The name lack imagination, the handsets get some spiffy make over and upgraded its features that bring a people-centric approach to mobile communication. See how powerful it is!

It’s comes with a battery, an extra stylus, an AC adapter, a stereo headset, a USB cable, a leather case, screen protector, CD and User’s guide.

HTC Touch Pro2 T7373 Phone Unboxing Review

Touch Pro2 is noticeably heavier (178.5 g vs. 165 g) and larger (116 X 59.2 X 16.65 mm vs. 102 X 51 X 18.05 mm) than the original Touch Pro. Of course, the bigger screen makes the device looks bigger and elegantly designed with softer edges compared with the previous one. Can’t believe that it is in the same family of Touch Pro judge by its appearance. It looks like TyTN II more than Touch Pro.

It features a large 3.6-inch WVGA (800x480 pixel) touchscreen display which got only 2.8-inch WVGA (480 x 640 pixels) on the previous one. It’s the biggest screen that has ever seen on HTC recently. Even the newest Diamond2, it got 2.8-inch only. Also, Touch Pro2 paired with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The buttons below the display: a total of 4 keys share the limited space. But they are easy to press with a good tactile feedback.

The bottom side hosts the combined miniUSB slot and an audio jack.

At the back, you may see the mute button and the 3.2 megapixel camera. And there is a new added function: While a call or conference call is in progress, you can turn on the speakerphone by simply placing the device face down.

To use the hardware keyboard, slide the screen panel up to reveal the keyboard. And the power bottom is on the left top of the device.

Once you slide it up, you can tilt the display to as much as 130 degrees up, so that you can lay the device comfortably on your desk and get perfect visibility of the screen.

As well as, the spacious lettering on the keypad on the Touch Pro2. You are able to tap messages quickly and comfortably, despite our big thumbs. Touch Pro2's raised keys are spaced apart and are large for a mobile phone. They also click when you have tapped a letter so you know the letter has been typed.

You have to remove the stylus and then remove the back cover to insert the microSD card. The microSD card slot is located on the upper part of the exposed right panel.

It is using HTC’s latest TouchFlo 3D interface, which allows finger-touch access to the most important functions such as favorable contacts, text message, e-mail and more. It brings more relevant information to the forefront.

You can use the hardware keyboard to enter text. Another option is to use either the on-screen Full QWERTY or Phone Keypad. These two on-screen keyboards are both large enough and finger-friendly.

HTC Touch Pro2 T7373 Phone Unboxing Review

The Touch Pro2 is the predecessor to the HTC Touch Pro with many improvements, and builds on the success of the popular Windows Mobile device with Zoom Bar as Diamond2 does. However, it adds HTC’s Straight Talk technology, which claims to improve the speakerphone quality using asymmetric speakers and advanced noise suppression with full duplex acoustics, which is doesn’t appear on Diamond2. At the same time, Diamond2 got the 5 megapixel camera whereas the Touch Pro2 only got 3.2 megapixel. They are both nearly perfect but lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack for the music lovers. The Touch Pro2 is a quality device and it makes the choice between Touch Pro2 and Diamond2 more difficult.

What are the differences between the one with "Black" color and "Black (US)" color? IS the one in waiting list compatible with US/CA 3G?

Score 6 out of 10 Let me first start off by giving my compliments to Plemix for there constant unmatchable communication and business practices throughout the transaction process of this phone. They have been one of the most professional online companies I have ever dealt with and that's saying a lot in my experience with online companies. Super fast delivery with extremely secure online transaction. This company deserves to be recognized and I am more than happy to spread my great over the top experience with you and not with just this post but with all of my posts I do about this phone with this company. I received this phone with great expectations and for the most part they were validated, however there were a few minor rubs about this phone that I had discovered after using the phone for a few hours before writing this post. This IS finally handsdown THE IPHONE KILLER First The Bad 1. No Flash its stated in the specs but I miss it all the same, no big deal. -.5 2. The backlight is not that bright and needs to be a lot brighter and its really apparent on a clear sunny day in mid afternoon. This is a huge pitfall in my book. Its seems to be a trend in all of the HTC touch screen models at least for the ones I own being the 8525 and the older version T-Mobile MDA . -1 3. G Sensor (the auto screen orientation feature) doesn't work that well heck it only works in a couple applications and not the important ones either. However when you slide the keyboard out the landscape transition is fast and smooth with very little delay unlike other previous models HTC has made. -.5 4. Multimedia is on the low side even though its classified as a business phone I have the Nokia E90 which is in the same class and that has better multimedia capabilities than this phone. However this is more of a personal preference than a really lack of feature. 0 5. NO Voice recognition This is a huge disappointment for me that this feature is missing I have grown to love this feature in previous phones. Say a Contacts name and it dials the number, the Nokia E90 did this quite well. This would be the first phone I have owned without this feature, and I am simply amazed HTC has left this important feature out of this phone. Huge marks off what could of been a perfect 10. -2 The Good 1. The best keyboard for a phone. Button feedback is superb and keys are greatly spaced 2. The Quick Menu shortcuts across the lower bottom of the screen has cool feedback a vibration to be specific when you select the shortcuts. A really neat effect. 3. Very sturdy durable construction slick and small form factor despite having a big screen bigger than the IPhone spec wise but doesn't look bigger, I might be wrong because I haven't seen the Iphone close and personable in a while. 4.Windows 6.01 is stable a fast still the best OS MS has ever made in my book. 5. Hardware is solid stable and fast and runs Windows mobile 6.01 great. Out of all the Oses Widows CE oh I mean Mobile 6.01 is superior out of all OSes, its the one Os Gates and team had done right from day one. Better in my experience than Symbian and better than Versions software which I advise everyone to stay away from that network and their phones. Their support is horrific but unnoticeable to the average user I have had some really bad experiences with Verizon and I have told them as I have told and continue to tell all clients of mine to stay away from that Network. P.S. If you like there phones they have you can get them elsewhere under a different model name and/or number you just have to look harder or check out Plemix.com. I'm sure they might have the phone your looking for. Now that's out of the way lets continue. 6. The TouchFlo 3D is integrated seamlessly into the OS its amazing.\ Anybody that wants a phone like the Iphone but better less restrictive and an endless amount of free software this is the phone your looking for. Besides some of the above listed flaws, this is the phone I have been waiting 4 for years. Thank you PleMix.com for talking great care in shipping to me from start to finish. I hope this review helped anybody that is interested in this phone. Peace. .
