Ricoh R10, original Double Retracting Lens System has made it possible to fit a high magnification 7.1x optical wide-angle zoom lens in a slim compact body. To go beyond the 7.1x optical zoom (200 mm), use the auto resize zoom for powerful telephoto shooting up to 40.7x (equivalent of 1140 mm).
The new Ricoh R10. a very compact digital camera
I have owned many digital cameras in the past; Sony, Canon, Pentax, Leica but none of the cameras come up to the exceptional features and ultra sharp photo results as the Ricoh R10.
I have been using the camera for 8 days now and can report the following results:
Super clear photos from .01 macro to the 200mm 7.1X Optical zoom lens (improved over R8)
28mm Wide angle lens
Ease of operation even for beginners with the new 'easy mode'
Hold feature after photographing a subject; not like many other cameras you can choose 'hold' to allow you to view photo taken for as long as you desire, not just a few seconds
New 'level' feature tells you on screen with a green bar that the photo is level
Flash Compensation (new) allows you to set flash intensity up to +2 in thirds; flash up 10mm
SD Memory cards; has 54MB internal memory
Face Detection; up to 4 faces improved over the R8; blue square appears around face then turns to a flashing green square that tells you to shoot photo
Movie mode with sound
ISO range 80 to 1600
Battery life Approximately 300 photos on a charge
